About My Clients
My clients are first-generation adults navigating the complexities of the world. They sense something happening but struggle to pinpoint it. Intrigued by art and writing, they ponder a world where they don't constantly explain themselves. Seeking a space to understand their unspoken truths, they are curious about finding and understanding their voice.
My Background and Approach
My training and exposure so far have provided me with clinical skills and knowledge in various trauma modalities such as Sensorimotor and Somatic psychotherapy, Dissociation, Mindfulness, DBT, and Internal Family Systems - all unique ways of working with trauma and knowledge. I work towards and continue to learn how to bridge these skills from an anti-oppressive and decolonial approach. I have also received training and an in-depth understanding of how to utilize various creative art methods - sound/music, drama, body/movement/dance, art, and poetry as therapeutic practices and tools.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My approach is dynamic, grounded in relational, collaborative, and active principles. I believe the therapeutic relationship can be a vehicle for change and a container to hold the multiplicity of your story and experiences. It is an exchange of ideas, thoughts, feelings, movements and language which can frame and support you in understanding how primary and early relationships with figures and the world reflect your internal world and the beliefs you learn to hold about yourself over time. With curiosity and consent as guiding principles, we will work towards creating a space that can reflect your needs and can be a center for you to work through your story. I firmly believe change happens when we can be in relationships that are willing to understand what we most fear about ourselves with dignity, tenderness, and care - integral needs that can restore choice, agency, and power in ourselves.
