About My Clients

My clients often arrive with burdens they've been carrying for a long time - trauma, shame, a strong inner critic, or a sense of not quite belonging. Many identify as LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, or otherwise outside the mainstream, and are looking for a therapist who genuinely gets that. Some are young folks navigating identity and overwhelm; others are adults finally ready to do deeper work. What they share is a desire to understand themselves more fully and embrace their authentic selves.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed psychologist (PhD, University of Washington) with experience in private practice, hospitals, community mental health, and schools. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, identity, and LGBTQ+ affirming care, and I'm Level 1 trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) with additional specialization in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT) and psychodynamic approaches. In our work together, IFS serves as the primary map. Rather than treating your protective patterns or difficult emotions as problems to eliminate, we get curious about what they're carrying, what they're afraid of, and what they might be able to let go of over time. This approach tends to be especially meaningful for people who've felt misunderstood, fragmented, or discouraged by simply trying to "think differently." I work virtually across Washington and PSYPACT-participating states.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I'm a queer, mixed-race therapist, and those identities shape how I listen, what I notice, and how I relate to my clients. Affirming care is a foundation of my work. I believe that many of the struggles people bring to therapy aren't personal failures; they're adaptive responses to systems and experiences that weren't designed with everyone in mind. I'm also a strong believer in access to quality mental health care. If you are uninsured and can't afford my regular rate, I am open to discussing a reduced fee. Outside of my private practice, I'm involved in clinical training and supervision to support the growth of the next generation of therapists. Personal values I bring into therapy include curiosity over judgment, compassion over criticism, and belief in our innate capacity for healing.
