My Background and Approach
First and foremost, you can expect to be heard and understood on a deep level. The beginning of therapy always consists of developing meaningful, accurate and insightful understandings of the current issues you are facing. As an active, involved therapist, my goal is to help you look at your life more clearly and join you in the discovery of all the complexities that make up you. Your basic personality will not change but come into fullness - small, yet extremely meaningful modifications can create an entirely different life without having to create an entirely different person. Getting better, regardless of diagnosis, centers on trusting your inner voice, gut reactions, and then learning to follow them in a constructive way. Our therapeutic approach places emphasis on insight, emotion, creating a healthier relationship with your mind, learning new skills, bettering communication, relationship skills, self-care and setting effective boundaries.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy helps people to develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships, become free of old patterns, or simply find ways to process pain or memories that have kept them feeling stuck. It is a healing process that allows people to not only start feeling better but gain insight, awareness, and ultimately begin trusting their intuition and experience. Relationships are as capable of hurt and pain as they are for healing. I have a heart and a passion for this work and care deeply for the people that come to see me. I look forward to getting to know you, understanding your unique challenges, and meeting you exactly where you are.
