About My Clients

Are you struggling with work-life balance and feeling overwhelmed? Are stress and anxiety making you feel irritable or disconnected from those you care about? Our sessions will be focused on you, your goals, and the changes you want to see. If it were easy, everyone would have figured it out. But the truth is, being human is hard, and I strive to help individuals turn the compassion they show others toward themselves. Together, we'll work toward empowering you to navigate life with resiliency.

My Background and Approach

I strongly believe in using methods that have been shown in empirical research to be helpful and effective. Because of that, you might find my approach interactive; I'm not just here to listen. Although I don't have a magic therapy wand to wave and fix everything, my person-centered, relatable, multicultural approach draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and self-compassion techniques to help individuals learn how to lower anxiety, stress, perfectionism, and burnout, as well as improve self-esteem and insomnia. Our work will focus on your whole self, including different aspects of your identity as well as past experiences that may still be impacting you. I have specialized experience working with mixed race adults navigating challenges that come along with multi-group belonging, including oppression and internalized oppression. I aim to provide an affirming, inclusive, safe space to discuss and learn how to navigate these challenges.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe every person acts in ways that help them meet their needs, which is learned over time. Because of this, I also believe we can change how we respond to situations with skills that may be more helpful than our learned responses. To me, progress in therapy doesn't happen overnight, and we don't always make continuous progress. Sometimes we experience setbacks and that's okay! Anxiety and perfectionism can make us think otherwise, and sometimes that can cause our inner voices to be a bit critical. I believe that showing ourselves compassion can be a helpful tool in easing that pressure we may place on ourselves.
