About My Clients
I have 20 years of experience working with women and families. I understand how challenging and overwhelming life transitions can be. Sometimes we all need someone to encourage us and remind us it is not going to feel this way forever. Even desirable changes (career, moves, parenting) can be stressful in the moment. Other shifts such as divorces or deaths feel life-shattering, and require additional support. Ultimately, we all want to feel heard and seen. We need to know we are not alone.
My Background and Approach
I approach every individual from a strength-based perspective. It is important to build upon what is already working. Miranda has extensive experience working with women and their unique experiences. I provide coaching and counseling focused on parenting. I have two children of my own. Therefore, I know how exciting (and challenging!) being a mother can be. I also assist clients as they navigate life’s transitions, ranging from young adulthood to divorce and other change of life shifts. It is understood even desired changes can be challenging and require support. I utilize a variety of approaches: Attachment Theory, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Child Parent Psychotherapy, Mindful Based Therapy, Person Centered Therapy, and other evidenced-based/effective modalities. Each client brings an array of life experiences to the session. Collaboratively, the client and I will work together to face challenges.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I volunteer with Camp Kesem, a national organization devoted to supporting children through a parent's cancer and beyond. I have lived experience with parental cancer and the effects it has on the entire family, especially children. I also am an active member of my local Epilepsy Foundation.
