My Background and Approach
My education and training with couples is using Emotion-Focused couples therapy, as well as Gottman Couples therapy methods. I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Lewis & Clark College in December of 2011, and have been working in private practice ever since. Half of my clientele are couples, and half individuals. I am familiar with the Gottman Relationship Checkup as an assessment tool for couples, which allows a clear treatment as a guide for our work together. My passion is working with new/expectant parents, helping ease the challenging transition from a couple to a threesome, as well as teaching couples tools to maintain friendship, facilitate constructive conflict, and deepen intimacy. I also work with couples who are healing from affairs and other mistrusts. My individual work ranges from anxiety, depression, life transitions and relationship challenges.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe going to therapy should be normalized and talked about, and that everyone should have access to therapy. I believe that our world is deeply affecting the way we interact with one another, which also results in mental health challenges. I am born and raised a NW woman, and proud of it. I married my high school sweetheart, and together we created two kids. We love living a hectic life, but we also take the time to slow down and recharge.
