About My Clients
I want to help you process and heal from traumas that may cause mental health symptoms like depressed moods, anxiousness, difficulty focusing, and feeling overwhelmed by daily life. I treat trauma and PTSD, relationship and attachment concerns, depression, anxiety, including social anxiety, life transitions, and identity issues. I work with existential concerns, spirituality, religious trauma, and sexual trauma.
My Background and Approach
My clinical point of view is feminist, sex-positive, trauma-sensitive, anti-oppressive, and harm-reductionist. Prior to working as a therapist, I worked in professional dance companies for ten years as both an artist and in running organizations. I also have life experience as a parent and a working parent. I have a Master of Science in Community and Trauma Counseling. I am an Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC) as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Everyone deserves a non-judgmental space where you will be listened to, believed, and supported. I believe that talking through painful and shameful life experiences can be a necessary first step toward recovery. Sometimes in therapy, you may need to move through an emerging situation quickly to find an expedient solution, which I'm so here for! I am also very much here for slowing down and working toward longer-term goals. For example, the process of reclaiming our sexuality following trauma or abuse is an important process that takes time.
