Do you struggle with depression, anxiety, or chronic illness? Maybe you are bracing against the gender binary and want to explore your authentic gender expression. In your hardest moments, you may face existential or spiritual questions of meaning and purpose. I'm here to listen and to share with you the refreshing experience of Acceptance & Commmitment Therapy (ACT) and nondual mindfulness.
My Background and Approach
Do you seek lasting happiness, peace, and control? The startling yet refreshing premise of my mindfulness-based approach is that you can’t ultimately control your thoughts and feelings. And so instead of struggling to manage and optimize your experience, we focus on increasing your connection to the full spectrum of your experience—to deeply feel sadness, anger, fear, and even "negative” self-talk as a symphony of energetic textures. It's not about chasing the sunshine of happiness; it's about building connection with yourself and others in the flow of now, no matter the weather. This is called Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT).
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The greatest gift that I can offer you is my compassionate presence. As a nonbinary person, I love supporting queer folx, and I am also passionate about working with clients of any gender/sexual orientation, including straight cis men. As a social worker, I am passionate about equity and social justice, and I make it a point to examine individual mental health through the lens of the larger systems of oppression that shape our lives.
