Attachment theory can be used with any client, couple or family that attends therapy. I have been using attachment theory with all my clients when I conceptualize their presenting concerns and treatment plan for growth. This theory allows me to understand how clients' early attachments have shaped their views of themselves and their world.
I attended EMDR training in 2008 and have been practicing EMDR since then. I have completed advanced EMDR trainings. Most clients that have used EMDR therapy have seen improvements within 7-12 sessions of EMDR therapy.
I attended Brainspotting Training in 2018 and use this approach with most of my clients. Clients tend to see growth and healing in 4-8 sessions of brainspotting.
I have worked with teens (ages 14+) since 2004. I absolutely love working with the adolescent population. My approach is collaborative with teens and their caregivers so that we can create a treatment plan that works for everyone. When working with teens, I focus on building rapport with the teen and showing the teen that I understand their experiences.
Many clients start therapy because they do not feel good about themselves. They may have negative beliefs about themselves and we work together to get rid of the negative beliefs. I help clients improve their inner knowing and self-love so that they can feel good about living authentically.
I have worked with many clients that have experienced emotional, mental, sexual, physical or spiritual abuse. I help clients identify the impact of the abuse and trauma and we work together to create a plan for healing. Clients may benefit from EMDR or Brainspotting therapy to heal unresolved traumas.
