You may notice that you response to events, sounds, images differently or more reactively than before. Your relationships or performance in school, work, or personal life may have been affected. I use EMDR to support individuals process their trauma, regardless of how far past or recent it is. Together, we'll create an individualized plan to develop coping skills and work through the trauma in a structured treatment plan.

Depression is deceptive and comes in many forms, including low mood, lack of engagement in activities you used to enjoy, irritability, changes in your sleep or eating habits, self-esteem, or thoughts of suicide. It creates false narratives that play pessimistic realities that can feel difficult to challenge. Let's discuss ways your depression has affected you, explore beliefs and patterns that keep you feeling stuck, and discover ways to manage them and find relief.

EMDR is a treatment modality that allows individuals to process their trauma in a way where you do not become flooded by your thoughts and memories. An important step in this treatment is learning coping skills to help prepare you to process your memories with an EMDR trained therapist. Using bilateral stimulation (BLS) and a structured set of instructions and exercises, the trained therapist will guide you in learning about and moving forward from your trauma.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is used to help us understand our responses by breaking them down into different components: events that trigger a response, our thoughts, emotions, and actions. In exploring these patterns, we can learn new ways to respond to events so we can experience different reactions, sometimes ones that are desirable. You will also learn to challenge thoughts that no longer serve you and reshape them into helpful, realistic, and healthy thinking patterns.
