The Disease Model for all diseases is about the basic logic, that you have an organ, then it has defects due to all kinds of reasons like infections, and the defects present different symptoms. ADHD is a disease and the non-fully functioning organ is the brain. The dysfunctions are the symptoms. ADHD is a developmental disorder. Some of them may not even need a diagnosis, because development itself can help. However, some others may really need treatment.

Trauma is due to the overactivation of fear, necessary for surviving, but unnecessary for living. It’s extremely hard to tell your brain it’s safe because it cannot be told, it needs to witness. It happened, and you know it happened in the past, but its influences are still present.

The only emotion that we shared with most animals, even insects, is “Fear” because it secures our survival. Anxiety comes from fear. That’s the reason why it’s so primitive, so general, and so easy to have. It’s a normal emotion and it helps us survive, but it’s so hard to get rid of.
