About My Clients

Dr. Mina Barimany works with emerging adults, couples, women navigating complex family relationships, and mental health professionals seeking their own therapy. Her clients are often thoughtful, capable people who feel successful outwardly but sense something deeper needs attention. Through an active, insight-oriented approach, she helps clients understand patterns, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful personal growth.

My Background and Approach

Dr. Barimany takes an integrative, developmentally informed approach to psychotherapy that focuses on helping clients understand how their minds have evolved—and where growth is possible. Drawing from attachment theory, narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theory, and EMDR, she works collaboratively with clients to identify patterns in thinking, relationships, and emotional responses that shape their daily lives. Her work is both insight-oriented and practical. Together with clients, she explores how formative experiences, family systems, and personal narratives influence present-day challenges. When appropriate, EMDR is used to help process experiences that continue to affect current functioning but may be difficult to access through traditional talk therapy alone. Dr. Barimany describes her therapeutic style as “forward-leaning.” This means sessions are active, engaged, and focused on meaningful progress from the start. Clients are encouraged to

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Dr. Barimany believes that human beings have an innate capacity—and desire—for psychological growth. Development does not end in adolescence. Throughout adulthood, people continue to evolve in relationships, their sense of meaning, and in the world itself. Therapy is a space where that evolution can occur intentionally. Insight alone is often not enough—real change happens when awareness is paired with courage, accountability, and practice. Clients are capable of far more flexibility, resilience, and self-understanding than they often realize, and therapy can help unlock that potential. Dr. Barimany also holds a deep respect for the complexity of each person’s history, relationships, and internal world. Rather than viewing challenges as pathology, she sees them as signals pointing toward areas of the mind that are ready for development. Above all, she believes that growth is one of the most sacred processes in human life.
