About My Clients
The client I most enjoy meeting with are individuals who, despite having experienced and overcame adversities in their life, are motivated to make changes that are important to them. These are clients who have experienced traumas that may have affected their ability to relate to others, do the things that are important to them, and overall function in the world. Their goals are to help make sense of what happened to them and to create a new sense of purpose that is consistent with their values.
My Background and Approach
I am trained as a trauma informed clinician and work primarily with clients who have experienced sexual assault, rape, and ongoing childhood sexual abuse. I offer a non judgmental, safe and secure environment in which I can provide clinical expertise and help clients process experiences and reduce distress related to avoidance of painful memories. The modalities I chiefly rely on involve Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I utilize these interventions with a trauma informed lens.
