About My Clients
Do you tell everyone you’re “fine” while secretly battling stress in silence? Are you finding it difficult to prioritize your mental health amidst the hustle and grind of NYC? Do you feel stuck between your day-to-day routine and figuring out how to achieve the life you envisioned for yourself?
My Background and Approach
As someone who grew up in a Caribbean culture, I understand the lack of safe spaces to talk about the emotional, psychological, and sometimes physical stressors that exist when you’re just going through the motions. Within BIPOC communities, being in therapy comes with preconceived notions that something has to be “wrong” to be in therapy. These stigmas often prevent us from seeking the help we crave to start living more fulfilling lives. I use strengths-based therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and motivational interviewing to address each person’s needs and life circumstances. Basically, this means that I ask you questions, make sure I’m understanding your unique strengths, and help you design actions to take to make permanent changes in your life. I never judge, and nothing you will ever tell me could be “too much” for our work together.
