If you've every felt like you were suspended in a "space of stuck" you are not alone. Many people struggle to pinpoint the barriers to living a fulfilled life that optimizes their potential. Trauma and past experiences can contribute to this state of suspension. NOW is your opportunity to change direction and transition, no matter how long you've been stuck. I have the unique ability to effectively work with people from a variety of backgrounds, ages, ethnicities, and mental health needs.
My Background and Approach
I have a Bachelor degree in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from the University of California at Berkeley, and have worked in a broad range of social service/mental health arenas for over 20 years. As a licensed psychotherapist, I have successfully worked with many individuals, predominantly multiracial women and/or women of color, to break through years of entrapment in anxiety, depression, disempowerment, lack of self identity/insight, low self esteem, depression, trauma, and family conflict. As a former child custody mediator I also provide child custody case consultation. I utilize a plethora of professional and volunteer experience including Child Protective Services, Adult Protective Services, Adoptions, child custody mediation, therapeutic family visitation, trauma informed care, coping and life skills training, individual therapy, parent education/support groups, social work intern training, test preparation coaching, and social work adjunct lecturer.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I compassionately work from a strengths-based perspective and believe that there is hope for anyone who is motivated to make positive changes in their life. My private practice primarily consists of women of color and/or multiracial women in their 20's, 30's and 40's.
