I’ve helped people face what feels impossible, by being a caring voice to help them figure out who they are, and how to create a life built on authenticity, peace, joy and resilience. I can help you too.
My Background and Approach
In these difficult time, bring the comfort of a beverage and of your beloved pet, and join me to start finding some relief. I have been part of and caring for the queer community for over 30 years, and make it a priority to care for the LGBTQ+ community and those exploring their sexual and gender identities. I have helped teens, adults, parents and couples feel safe and understood. I am genuine, straight forward, and use humor and cursing to create a comfortable place for authenticity and imperfection. Through an attachment lens, I blend an insight oriented approach, with pragmatism and problem solving. In allowing space to be fragile and vulnerable, I help people find flexibility and acceptance. In exploring identity and the ways in which you may feel broken, we build your picture of yourself one piece at a time; expanding your self awareness, emotional language, internal calm, and sense of belonging. I want people to find the space and relationships to celebrate who they are.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In these days when empathy is vilified, I believe even more strongly in our collective need for compassion, empathy, community and curiosity. It is always my fervent wish that we strive to honor what connects us, rather than what divides us; maintaining curiosity and open-hearted engagement in the uniqueness of communities and individuals. But don’t let that fool you into thinking I am passive; I am a fierce advocate that believes the responsibility of citizenship is to fight for those who have less privilege and opportunity. These are the values and principles I was raised with and they have guided me throughout my life choices. I stand up for what I stand for especially when it’s not comfortable; and try to be both principled and humble. To balance this, I also have a wicked sense of humor and you will find me funny, irreverent, goofy and someone who loves cursing as much as I love a good dessert (and may even swap recipes).
