About My Clients
Most people seek psychological help because they want relief from pain and to feel more satisfied in their relationships, work, and with themselves. However, taking the first steps – actually setting up the first appointment with a therapist – can be anxiety-provoking. By creating a safe and non-judgmental space, I hope to establish a relationship in which clients can talk about things that may be hard to talk about with others.
My Background and Approach
I practice from a psychodynamic lens which says meaningful and lasting change occurs in the context of relationships – including the relationship between therapist and client. My goal is that, over time, we can safely explore unexpected thoughts, feelings, and memories. Through this exploration, things can take surprising turns that may not only help you achieve your goals but may redefine what you want in life. I’m excited for this new chapter in my career and look forward to being part of what might be a new chapter for you too.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Prior to going back to school to study counseling, I worked in advocacy and labor organizing. Justice for everyday people, especially the most marginalized folks, isn’t only a personal belief, it was the work I did for eight years. Working from an anti-oppressive lens is essential to my therapeutic practice.
