About My Clients
I support people who are experiencing depression, anxiety, relational issues, or identity struggles. I am invested in supporting clients with navigating their multifaceted and intersectional identities, including gender, sexuality, race, and relationship structures. I enjoy working with LGBTQ folks and people seeking to reconnect with themselves. Together we can work towards self-compassion, resilience, and change that feels right for you.
My Background and Approach
I believe therapy can be most transformative when you feel safe and empowered enough in our therapeutic relationship to be vulnerable. I incorporate Internal Family Systems and Emotion Focused Therapy with attachment-based and feminist frameworks. This means that I believe people are innately built for connection with others and I hope to invite you with empathy, honesty, and compassion as we connect you with your authentic self and support systems. I also bring in mindfulness techniques and believe that attuning to your mind-body connection is integral to healing and meeting yourself through all your phases. In session, you can expect me to gently challenge, laugh, and curse with you, allowing us to show up as humans first.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a Korean-Canadian, queer, neurodivergent, cis woman from a middle-class immigrant family. While I am currently areligious, I value spiritual exploration and seeking meaning beyond ourselves. My social locators inform my experiences and internalized biases, and I strive to continuously learn from intersectional liberation work that centers and affirms queer and marginalized experiences. I am sex positive, kink and BDSM-aware, and enthusiastically affirming of polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships, and queer and gender diverse identities.
