About My Clients
I enjoy working with a wide array of clients of varying ages and issues. I have a special interest in working with clients who work in helping professions such as healthcare, educators, and therapists. I work with teens (13+) and adults who struggle with self-esteem, communication issues, family/interpersonal relationships, depression, anxiety, work/school stress, women's issues, mood disorders, parenting struggles, codependency, and perinatal mood and anxiety issues.
My Background and Approach
My approach is person-centered, compassionate, validating, and interactive. I gravitate towards cognitive behavioral therapy which focuses on how we think about things and the effects our thoughts have on our emotions and behaviors. With 20 year experience, I have been able to customize coping skills and teach them in a way that works for each individual. I am direct in my approach and responsive with questions regarding coping with symptoms. During sessions, reflect what is expressed to help gain insight and find root causes. I feel the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of making progress and therefore, I prioritize learning about the needs of each individual.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe anyone who wants to make changes in their life can be successful in doing so with reflection and hard work. Therapy can be a difficult progress, but I have seen the rewards over my years in practice which has continued my drive and passion in this field.
