About My Clients
You’re a caregiver who isn’t sure what to do about your child’s behavior or moods and you want guidance and support. Your child or teen may be having emotional meltdowns or seems stressed or even depressed. Maybe they're struggling in school, getting into trouble, withdrawing, or having a hard time in relationships with family or friends. I help kids and families understand what’s happening and move forward in ways that feel better for everyone.
My Background and Approach
I'm an experienced clinical psychologist who works with kids, teens, and their caregivers using a relationship-focused, developmentally-informed approach. I pay close attention to how your child’s brain is wired, what they've been through, and what kind of support helps them feel safe, understood, and capable. I help families work through things like divorce, ADHD, trauma, grief, and mood or school challenges. Therapy might include play, creative activities, conversation, or collaborative work and coaching with caregivers—whatever feels most helpful for your child and your family. Caregivers often come in feeling unsure, burned out, or overwhelmed. Kids may not have words for what they’re going through, or they may act it out in ways that leave everyone confused and exhausted. I work to help families understand what’s happening underneath the behavior so we can move forward in ways that bring clarity and relief.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that kids (and their grownups) are doing the best they can with the resources they have and that all behavior is a form of communication. I’ve seen people and families change in ways that once felt impossible; this keeps me feeling hopeful even when things seem hard. I care deeply about making therapy a space where families feel safe, seen, and supported, and I strive to show up with curiosity and respect for each family’s values. As a biracial/bicultural and queer psychologist, I’m committed to affirming care that welcomes diverse identities, family structures, and lived experiences. I provide pro bono clinical supervision and consultation in community mental health because I believe everyone deserves access to culturally-responsive care. I take my work seriously and also believe in the value of joy and humor. I’m an artist and musician who adores animals and loves hiking, the ocean, and cooking. I'm also a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. Iykyk- we're just built different.
