About My Clients

My Background and Approach
Together, we will work through your struggles, addressing the root causes and helping you find a path to recovery and renewal. You don't have to carry the weight of these emotions by yourself. I'm here to listen, understand, and empower you to move forward. My approach to counseling is client-based, meaning I will base any treatment provided on you, the client. I generally pull from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Positive Psychology, Trauma-Focused CBT, Psychoeducation, and Mindfulness, among others.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I knew I wanted to become a counselor at 13 years old. I became a victim of sexual assault and my mother had taken me to the local Women's Resource Center for counseling. I knew then that I never wanted anyone to feel alone, whether it was for depression, trauma, anxiety, grief, or stress. As life moved forward, I struggled with all of those issues - and I also learned how to manage them. I believe my personal experiences are what makes me the counselor I am today -- one who is compassionate, nurturing, genuine, and trustworthy. One who will help you feel heard, validated, and understood. One who deeply cares about you as a person and wants to walk beside you as you discover your true self and begin to heal.
