About My Clients
"You are never here." "It's like we are roommates." "I never get it right." If any of this sounds familiar — you are not alone. These are some of the most common feelings couples bring into my office every day. Relationships are not always easy. It is painful to feel stuck, disconnected, or unable to reach the person who matters most to you. I help couples gain insight into their disconnection, communicate more clearly, and find new ways to reach for each other — including sexual relationships.
My Background and Approach
As a wife of over 15 years and mom of three, I understand relationship struggles personally. When my kids were young and life got demanding, my husband and I found ourselves exhausted, disconnected, and running on empty. I do not think our story is unique — in fact it is remarkably common. That personal experience, combined with my clinical training, shapes how I work with couples every day. I hold a Master of Education in Counseling from the University of Houston and am a Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist Supervisor and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. I use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Gottman methods to help couples identify the cycles driving their conflict and break free of damaging patterns. I help couples find their way out of painful distance and disconnection — and back toward intimacy, understanding, and genuine connection.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I did not come to this work by accident. Growing up, my family was affected by alcoholism and mental health challenges. A trusted mentor suggested I see a counselor. I was hesitant — I had been before with mixed results. But I went, with a small thread of hope. That counselor changed my life. She was warm, nonjudgmental, and genuinely present. Through that relationship I learned about myself, found hope, and began to believe in my ability to cope. I even brought my then-boyfriend — now my husband — into a few sessions. We still reference her guidance today. I became a therapist because of what she gave me. I wanted to give that to others. I believe most couples are not broken — they are stuck. Stuck in the same argument loop. Drifting quietly from the intimacy they once had. Wondering if they can find their way back. They can. I have seen it. I have lived it. I help couples reconnect, communicate more clearly, rebuild trust, and strengthen intimacy — emotional and physical.
