About My Clients
I enjoy working with people who are not afraid to be open and vulnerable about what's going on. Maybe they've been in therapy before and are looking for a different perspective; maybe this is the first time they're considering therapy. I have a great deal of experience working with people who deal with depression, anxiety, and adjustment issues. I also have experience working with first-generation struggles and acculturation issues, and addiction.
My Background and Approach
I employ an eclectic modality with patients, as each person is different. I appreciate being able to conceptualize from an object-relations perspective; our families of origin and our early years make a huge impact on us, even if we don't realize it until later in life. Most often I find cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approaches to be effective techniques, especially when attempting to enact some kind of change. I'll follow where you want to go during the course of the session, and at the same time I'm not hesitant to point out what I observe.
