About My Clients
Whether you’re struggling with the lingering effects of childhood trauma, facing current life challenges, or feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or depression, my goal is to help you find clarity, resilience, and hope. I believe in the power of laughter and genuine connection in the therapeutic process and strive to ensure that every person I work with feels heard, supported, and respected.
My Background and Approach
I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from the University of Georgia and specialize in working with individuals facing complex trauma (C-PTSD), depression, anxiety, and addiction. My approach is rooted in Positive Psychotherapy, focusing on strengths, resilience, and the inherent potential within each person. I integrate evidence-based practices like solutions-focused therapy, person-centered techniques, and humor to create a safe and supportive environment. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process, where you feel seen, heard, and empowered. Together, we’ll work to identify and build on your strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and set meaningful goals. My aim is to help you navigate life’s challenges with greater clarity, confidence, and hope. Whether you’re seeking relief from past trauma or looking to enhance your well-being, I’m here to support your journey toward healing and growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I’m Michelle L. King, LCSW, and I’m deeply committed to creating a kinder, more inclusive world. As a trauma therapist, I believe in the transformative power of empathy, authenticity, and social justice. I stand firmly with the LGBTQ+ community and support the Black Lives Matter movement, advocating for equality and dignity for all individuals. I’m passionate about mental health awareness and have worked with organizations focused on suicide prevention and supporting those struggling with addiction. I believe everyone deserves a safe and compassionate space to heal and grow, regardless of their background or experiences. I strive to provide that space in my practice, where clients can explore their stories and find their strength without judgment. My core values are kindness, respect, and empowerment, and I aim to live these values both in and out of the therapy room.
