About My Clients

I work with the "capable ones"—accomplished adults whose lives work on the surface, but who carry more than they let on. You may have anxiety that has outlasted every strategy, or be in a life transition that asks to be examined rather than managed. Perhaps you grew up holding things together for others and are feeling the weight of a role you never chose. You don’t need a crisis to begin; you simply sense there is more underneath: more meaning, more honesty, and more of yourself.

My Background and Approach

With a Ph.D. in Psychology and a B.A. in Philosophy, I bring two decades of inquiry into the big questions. My work is informed by a long apprenticeship in holding complexity—honoring the messy, contradictory truths we all carry. I practice a depth-oriented, existential-phenomenological, and psychodynamic inquiry. This is a formal way of saying we move beyond scripts and workbooks to look closely at your values, assumptions, and inherited patterns. Therapy with me is collaborative and unhurried. We focus on the quality of our relationship, which is the cornerstone of healing. Whether you are dealing with anxiety that has outlasted every strategy or are navigating the unsettling space between what once was and what is yet to be, I provide a secure, compassionate space to examine your experience as you live it. I tailor our work to you, fostering self-awareness so you can live more fully and consciously, even in the face of life's inherent challenges and uncertainties.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in the resilience of human beings and in each person's capacity for self-knowledge and responsible self-direction within sincere connection. I strive to offer that connection through empathy, attentiveness, and acceptance, because the transformational power of the alliance between client and therapist is the cornerstone of all growth. We are all in this together, alongside the rest of humanity, yet I deeply respect the singularity of your journey. I embrace Rilke’s wisdom: "Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves…Live the questions now." I believe therapy is a rare chance to see your patterns up close, in motion, with someone whose only agenda is understanding them with you. Ultimately, I believe this work adds up to something larger: a life that is more deliberate, more engaged, and more meaningful, whatever that looks like for you.
