About My Clients

I work with adults and couples experiencing anxiety, trauma, relationship conflict, intimacy or sexual concerns, life transitions, depression, and disconnection from themselves or others. I especially welcome LGBTQIA+, transgender and gender-expansive clients, as well as people seeking kink/BDSM-affirming, sex-positive care. Many of my clients are thoughtful, creative people who want more than symptom relief, they want greater self-understanding, authentic connection, and lasting change.

My Background and Approach

I am a licensed professional counselor (AL & PA) and Licensed clinical professional art therapist (MD), board-certified art therapist, certified psychosexual therapist, educator, author, and international speaker with nearly 30 years of clinical experience. My specialties include trauma and complex trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship and attachment concerns, couples counseling, sex therapy, eating disorders, chronic illness, and identity development. My approach integrates talk therapy with art therapy, Jungian/depth psychology, Internal Family Systems-informed work, attachment theory, and body-aware practices. You never need to be “good at art” to benefit from creative exploration. I tailor therapy to your needs and pace, helping you understand patterns, strengthen relationships, reconnect with your body and desires, and develop meaningful, sustainable change. I am a compassionate nudger: warm and accepting while gently encouraging you to explore what may be keeping you stuck.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe healing begins in relationships where people feel respected, believed, and free to bring their whole selves. My practice is LGBTQIA+-affirming, transgender-affirming, kink/BDSM-affirming, sex-positive, body-positive, and grounded in consent, cultural humility, and social justice. I honor varied relationship structures, identities, spiritual beliefs, cultures, bodies, and ways of creating a meaningful life. I believe clients are the experts on their own experiences and that therapy should support autonomy rather than impose a narrow definition of wellness. Creativity, imagination, and symbolism can reveal possibilities that words alone may not reach. Outside of my professional life, I value art, reflective writing, travel, nature, meaningful conversation, and time with the people and animals I love.
