About My Clients
I work with adults who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to make sense of longstanding or overlapping concerns. Many of my clients are navigating trauma, PTSD, ADHD, neurodivergence, substance use, anxiety, depression, difficult relationships, or major life transitions. I especially enjoy working with people who want to better understand themselves, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful change without feeling judged or reduced to a diagnosis.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Social Worker with 20 years of experience across outpatient, residential, psychiatric hospital, forensic, substance use, and community-based mental health settings. My background includes working with trauma and PTSD, co-occurring mental health and substance use concerns, ADHD and neurodivergence, severe and persistent mental illness, personality-related concerns, and complex life stressors. My approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, collaborative, and strengths-based. I draw from evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, CPT, EMDR, mindfulness, and solution-focused strategies. Therapy is tailored to your goals, preferences, and circumstances. I aim to help you understand patterns, process difficult experiences, build practical coping skills, and move toward a life that feels more manageable, meaningful, and aligned with your values.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy works best when people feel respected, understood, and free to be honest without fear of judgment. I value meeting clients where they are, recognizing their strengths, and understanding the broader experiences and systems that can affect mental health. My approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, autonomy, and the belief that meaningful change looks different for each person. I strive to create an inclusive and affirming space for clients from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTQ+ clients and people navigating neurodivergence, trauma, substance use, or complex mental health concerns. I believe clients are more than their diagnoses, and therapy should help people build greater self-understanding, choice, and a life that feels meaningful to them.
