About My Clients
I work primarily with children, adolescents, and families to support youth struggling with ADHD, anxiety, autism, gender dysphoria, depression, PTSD, trauma, and more. I specialize in providing compassionate and competent care to LGBTQ+ youth & families and have a particular interest in the intersectionality of neurodiversity and gender expansive identities. I work with many young children & adolescents who struggle with anxiety, inattentiveness, impulsivity, and managing feelings of anger.
My Background and Approach
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor working in Somerville, MA who specializes in working with children, teens, and families. I offer solution-focused therapy to the individuals I work with within a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) framework. In addition to CBT & Trauma-Focused CBT I utilize Motivational Interviewing and Play Therapy to engage and work with younger teens and children. I enjoy the energy, curiosity, and emotion that younger children may embody. I equally enjoy working with young teens and older adolescents on their journey to self-discovery through experiences in school, life, with friends & family, and beyond. I am passionate about helping youth, teens and families through their child's exploration of gender identity and sexuality, and provide support, education, and resources to those interested in pursuing hormone replacement therapy and/or affirming medical care.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in advocating for the rights of all people, particularly marginalized communities. I stand with Black Lives Matter and the LGBTQ+ community. I enjoy working with families and am passionate about providing education, support, and resources to families with neurodiverse and/or gender expansive children. I have extensive experience working with youth and families involved with The Department of Children & Family Services, and many of the youth and teens I work with are (or have been) in foster care settings, hospitalizations, and/or group home settings at times.
