About My Clients
If you find yourself unable to turn your thoughts off, or if you've ever been told that you're hard on yourself then we can work on slowing your thoughts, and building your confidence to make your thoughts/emotions feel more manageable. Our thoughts can feel overwhelming and we can work together in calming them and make them feel less intimidating. We can also work on communication skills, setting boundaries, and helping you recover from burn-out so that you don't pour from an empty cup.
My Background and Approach
The process of healing isn't easy, which is why I always aim to provide a safe place for clients as we work together to bring change and take steps toward growth. I primarily listen to clients from a psychodynamic and meaning making lense, but also shift to where I think I need to best meet my clients. My approach leans toward being more compassionate, direct, and inquisitive. I also give homework at times to further growth outside of sessions. I'm currently trained in Brainspotting up to Phase 2 and am working on becoming credentialed.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I'm really passionate about creating a safe place for my clients to feel heard, fully known, and supported. I believe that whether it's needing help with the tools we already have, or help in building tools from the ground up that it takes help to grow in a way that allows us feel confident and celebrated. Sometimes we can even have old tools that we learned from our families, or experiences, and we're finding that we don't need them anymore! The growth and healing process is difficult and not always something to excitedly look forward to, which is why I balance being direct and compassionate with my clients.
