About My Clients
Whether you are dealing with the lasting effects of trauma, addiction (yours or a loved one's), or mental health issues, I am here to support you with a safe, non-judgmental space where you can find relief from negative symptoms, rebuild a core sense of self, and begin to live the fulfilling life you deserve. I love working with clients who are open and internally motivated to get better.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, Addictions Counselor, and certified Dance/Movement Therapist; I help clients feel grounded, safe, and whole by reconnecting with their core sense of Self. Drawing from Polyvagal Theory, EMDR, and Dance/Movement Therapy, I guide clients to understand their nervous system, release negative core beliefs, and embody a deeper sense of self-awareness and strength. Even when we can't control the outside world, we can learn to feel secure within ourselves.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In addition to being a therapist, I am also a cat mom (of 3), a dancer (still taking classes to this day), and avid traveler, and an orange belt in Krav Maga. Embodiment is not only integrated into my therapeutic approach, but also my approach to life. My experiences taking dance and krav maga classes allows me to practice finding safety, security, and trust in my own body and Self; and Krav allows me to practice applying the Polyvagal lens in seeking safety and connection. Traveling challenges my comfort zone and allows me to integrate and experience other cultures (food, dance, language, clothing, etc.) And no matter where I am or where I go, I will always look for ways to gravitate toward animals (from wild animals to other people's dogs walking down the street).
