I focus on all types of traumas, such as stress related disorders, and neurodevelopment disorders (intellectual developmental disorder, Autism, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity disorder [ADHD], Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, anxiety, conduct disorder, insomnia, and personality disorder, etc.)
My Background and Approach
I am a graduate student in the counseling psychology program at Bowie State University (BSU), a former health care senior manager for 10 years, and at least 10 years of working in the disability field as a direct support staff, with a total of over 20 years, serving people from diverse populations with developmental or intellectual disabilities and mental health disorders. My projector educational path is to pursue my Ph.D. in neuropsychology. I am a researcher for the Atikal Foundation, a nonprofit organization that celebrates survivors of domestic violence and cancer while bringing awareness to the mental health issues often precipitated by traumatic experiences. My life research focuses on traumatic stress and how generational trauma correlates with psychological development over the human lifespan, beginning with fetal development. I specialize in individual and group therapy with children 8-13, teens 13-18, and adults. I’m also happy to collaborate with families who are struggling
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an African American male and I have personal experience with stress related trauma that mentally and physically demobilized me for seven years. I was raised as a Southern Baptist; today my theology is more interfaith; and accepting of all religious relationships.
