About My Clients

I offer full support, inclusion, and affirmation of the LGBTQIA+ community and every identity in our community with significant experience providing couples therapy for all relationship types (traditional, open, poly, ENM, etc.). I provide treatment for depression, anxiety, addiction issues, anger management, and many other mental health needs. I offer full support for the Disability Community as well as the navigation of education and employment, including help re-entering the work force.

My Background and Approach

Hey There! Feel free to call me Mike, Michael, or Mikey and any pronoun is valid for me! I'm a Queer, non-binary person who grew up in Baltimore, MD. From 2019-2021, I attended Coppin State University for my graduate program in Counseling. During my graduate program, I provided no-cost Telehealth counseling through the Pro-Bono Counseling Project of Maryland. During the difficult periods of lockdown for Covid-19, I found that the need for affordable therapy to combat isolation and stress was very high. Growing as a counselor during this time, and seeing how impactful accessible therapy was during such a period of strain in our society, is one of my main motivators for providing reduced rate counseling sessions now as a professional counselor. My sessions are conversational and my goal is to provide a warm, welcoming environment for you to share openly. I’m here to cheer on your successes, tackle your challenges, and process complex emotions with you when you need support.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that therapy should be easily accessible and affordable, and I’m excited to provide all of your counseling needs. I am a proud Queer non-binary member of the LGBTQIA+ community and that Trans rights are human rights. Some example topics I work with are: Attending to and supporting the specific needs of each and every identity in the LGBTQIA+ community Full support and affirmation of the Trans, Non-Binary, Genderfluid, and Gender Nonconforming community The coming out process and exploring identity Identifying and affirming difficulties related to being in a marginalized group Treatment for religious trauma related to being in the LGBTQIA+ community and other traumas related to religious abuse Navigating relationships with family and friends Working with the intricacies of creating and maintaining successful relationships, including non-traditional relationships (Open, Poly, ENM, etc.)
