About My Clients
I use the term "Mental Health Sherpa" because all of us have experienced times in life when our burden just seems too heavy to carry alone, and we need help. Or perhaps we're feeling stuck or lost and need a guide. I work best with clients who have suffered loss (both death and non-death varieties) and don't know how to navigate their pain and find healing. Often these losses can be further complicated by earlier life wounds that continue to haunt them.
My Background and Approach
I provide a compassionate approach to therapy that honors your pain. Using elements of Schema Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and anchored in Dr. Alan Wolfelt's Companioning Model for grief, I combine these tools into a personalized and highly tailored way that fits you. You will learn about your grief and come to realize that there is nothing wrong with experiencing pain because you've lost someone or something that was very important to you. Grief is merely the result of having loved.
