About My Clients
Meeting with a therapist can be a difficult thing for some people to do. I strive to make your sessions as comfortable for you as possible in order to facilitate a therapeutic relationship between us. You will not always feel great after therapy! But hopefully, you will always be glad you came to a session with me. I see mostly LGBT clients, but all clients are welcome.
My Background and Approach
NOW Therapy is a different approach to psychotherapy. Healing takes place only in this present moment when we are able to open ourselves to this experience and let go of our old patterns of dysfunction and attachments to outcomes. NOW Therapy encourages you to achieve your innate potential to be free in this body, in this mind, in this present moment. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been practicing for more than 10 years. I work mainly with the LGBT community and specialize in working on issues including trauma, HIV, sexuality, and anxiety/depression.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Do our early experiences shape our adult life? Many therapists would say that they do. I choose to see myself as a work in progress that is not to be judged, but simply is. Accepting oneself for who one is… in this present moment… is the key to emotional balance and a fulfilling life. Still, we can strive for our greatest potential by recognizing negative patterns in our lives and seeking change and healthy balance.
