About My Clients
My clients are thoughtful, self-aware people who may be high-functioning yet feel stuck with anxiety, relationships, or identity questions. Many are LGBTQ+ or gender-diverse and are looking for therapy that is intelligent, affirming, and not rushed. They value depth, nuance, and honesty, and want space to make sense of their lives rather than be quickly fixed or simplified.
My Background and Approach
My background includes over two decades of clinical work with adults, young people, and families, with a particular focus on LGBTQ+ mental health and gender-affirming care. I previously served as Director of Mental Health and co-founded a hospital-based LGBTQ+ youth clinic, and I continue this work in private practice through telehealth. My approach is integrative and relational, drawing from CBT, DBT-informed strategies, and narrative work. I focus on helping clients understand emotional patterns, reduce anxiety, and place their experiences in context rather than rushing toward solutions. Sessions are collaborative, thoughtful, and paced to support insight, stability, and lasting change. I aim to be both steady and curious—direct when useful, reflective when it matters.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
believe the role of a good therapist can be summed up in three essentials: perspective, power, and peace. Therapy offers perspective that friends and family—no matter how loving—often cannot. It also provides power, through concrete tools and insight, to help you change patterns that no longer serve you. Ultimately, the goal is peace: a steadier relationship with yourself and your life. My approach is both gentle and candid. I work collaboratively, offering reflection, clarity, and practical strategies without rushing or oversimplifying complex experiences. I am trained through the World Professional Association for Transgender Health and have helped hundreds of transgender and gender-diverse patients, as well as their families, navigate gender transition with care, thoughtfulness, and respect. My work is affirming, grounded, and paced to support lasting change.
