About My Clients
Are you confused and frustrated and unable to reconnect effectively with your partner? Are you tired of arguing and having stressful home lives? I work with various clientele, but many of my clients tend to be introverted, analytical types who are skeptical of emotions. I also see many clients (individuals and couples) who have experienced childhood abuse and neglect.
My Background and Approach
I have been helping individuals and couples since 2010. Before this, I worked for 10 years as an electrical engineer. I specialize in men’s issues and relationship counseling. My approach combines empathy, active listening, and practical strategies, all tailored to meet each client’s unique needs. I use Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) to help couples improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen emotional bonds. I also use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist individuals in processing past trauma, reducing anxiety, and fostering personal growth. Whether helping couples reconnect or supporting men in overcoming personal challenges, I provide an accepting and validating space where clients can explore their struggles, gain insights, and create meaningful, lasting change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Being trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, I approach clients from a humanistic perspective. This means I de-emphasize diagnoses and begin to highlight the humanity we all have within us. I see clients stuck due to rigid ways of thinking and behaving that no longer serve them. These patterns often stem from past experiences and learned strategies that may have worked but now limit their growth. In other words, they feel stuck in their current situation, unable to recognize or break free from these unhelpful habits, preventing them from seeing their challenges in a new light or finding healthier ways to move forward. As a white, cis heterosexual male, I am aware of my social location as a majority cultural group. I work hard to understand the unique experiences of all of my clients. Because of this, I view therapy as a collaborative experience where I know a few things about therapy but ultimately see the client as an expert on their own experience.
