About My Clients
The areas I specialize in include: men's issues; parenting issues; and financial therapy. I work frequently with depression, anxiety, anger, isolation, identity issues, relational issues, communication and coping skills, life transitions, and more. I am also experienced working with people who are neurodivergent and I am a LGBTQ+ ally. I have worked with people from different cultural and religious backgrounds. My Background and Approach
I operate primarily from a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, which focuses on understanding our thoughts and translating them into logical, practical solutions. Of course I also take your concerns and plans into consideration and I hope that you will feel comfortable telling me if an approach is working or not working for you. My approach is for this to be your treatment plan, not mine. Personally, I have experience for the past 3+ years hosting, facilitating, participating, and founding men's virtual mental health support groups. I am also a father to two young children and I have been a stay-at-home-parent for the past 4 years. I am now a working parent but still primary caregiver to my children. I also have prior career experience as an accountant which I can incorporate into your therapy, specifically if you are struggling with financial challenges in the form of your relationship with money.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am not religious, I would say I am a spiritual agnostic atheist, but I am open and supportive of whatever faith you ascribe to. I have no intention to force my beliefs onto you. Rather, I want to support what is best for you, faith and religion included. I am a cisgender, heterosexual, primarily white (also half Asian) male so while I understand I have privilege, I have every intention to support you and your identity no matter what. I am a supporter of LGBTQ+ rights, identities, and lifestyles. I believe every person deserves, and should have, therapy.
