The Addiction Process starts with stress, isolation, and small compromises. The fight with your partner, a bad day at work, or financial struggles build until your resilience wears thin. Then the pull of substances or behaviors becomes too much, small compromises become big ones and you give in. Break free from this by learning how to process unhealthy patterns, manage life’s stress better, connect with others, and live in a connected and healthy way that doesn’t rely on addiction for relief.

I have used my training in Solutions Focused Brief Therapy in all my years of practicing, since 2015. By using your strengths and hunting for examples from your life when you excelled, we create small goals that are practical, measurable and actually doable! Successfully accomplishing these goals creates confidence and motivation to strive for major life change! This is super useful in individual, couples and family therapies.

I apply multiple perspectives to couples counseling. I use Emotionally-Focused Therapy based on trainings, supervision and experience, to help couples sculpt healthy patterns of relationship. I combine this with training from the Gottman Institute that helps me to assess and name serious problematic issues and prescribe change. From the Mindsight Institute, Dr Siegel, I help couples to slow down, breathe and become aware of and heal rigid reactive patterns that doom relationship.

My counseling career began in a clinic devoted to helping teens and their families to overcome addictions. Today I help clients using various approaches. Motivational Interviewing helps to move clients out of denial into action plans. Attachment therapy can uncover the wounds and hurts of the past that feed the addictive craving. Insight from family history can help to visualize actual change. Relationship and family counseling creates a context of support and help in times of stress.
