Michael Guglielmino

Using my years of experience and training and a variety of specialized skills and techniques, I help each of my clients find the strength within to overcome their personal challenges. My primary approach to therapy is interpersonal. Since we are social beings, I focus on helping the individuals, couples, and families I work with heal from the injuries in their relationships and rebuild healthier, more satisfying personal connections with others. Many of my clients have been hurt and betrayed by the people in their lives, so I know how important it is to provide a safe and trusting relationship for them to feel comfortable, open up, and heal from their pain and suffering. The strong therapeutic partnerships I establish with my clients paves the way to personal and interpersonal growth.

People often ask me if they are the product of their genes or their environment. My learning and experience have taught me that heredity and early family experiences each contribute to the person that we become; for some biology matters more, and for others social learning plays a larger role. Regardless of the shaping influences, I am convinced that we are resilient creatures with the capacity to grow and change. Our knowledge about the brain, mental health conditions, their causes, and effective treatments has grown by leaps and bounds in recent years. I strive to stay on top of the field and to provide state of the art assessment and treatment to the clients I feel privileged to serve.
