About My Clients
My clients range from children and adolescents with behavioral, developmental, academic or emotional struggles, to young adults and adults with trauma, multiple diagnoses, and struggling with their identities, family or relationship conflict, or interpersonal struggles.
My Background and Approach
My background is in both mental health psychology, as part of my Bachelor of Science program at Madonna University in Psychology, where I graduated in 2009 and a dual school and clinical counseling program for my Master of Arts degree in Counseling, which I obtained in 2013 from Oakland University. Since graduating, I have worked in a variety of settings, including home and community based, outpatient, as well as working in schools with children with autism, ADHD and other developmental disabilities. My approach is multi-theoretical and holistic, with an approach that honors and values the whole person, not just their diagnosis. I provide a person-centered approach, where I believe that every individual has an opportunity to strive towards greatness and wholeness, as well as a cognitive-behavioral approach, where I focus on the inter-relationship between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors, as work on challenging those negative thoughts that interfere with our overall wellbeing.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My personal belief is that everyone is entitled to being provided with quality, affordable services, including mental health services, and that people of all faiths, sexual orientations, races, genders etc. should be respected.
