About My Clients
My approach to counseling that life is often uncontrollable, but we can control how we respond, how we communicate, and how we navigate through complex social/personal/professional issues. I work primarily with teens, young adults, college students, and adults on a variety of difficulties such as anxiety, depression, suicide/suicidality, personality disorders, and career/workplace stressors.
My Background and Approach
My specific counseling approach is based in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and person centered therapy. Professionally, I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC), graduating from Duquesne University with a masters in clinical mental health counseling. I have worked previously at the Services for Teens at Risk (STAR) program, helping teens, young adults, and college students with suicidal thoughts/ideation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Personally, I was born in Columbus, Ohio, but now reside with my wife and child and have lived in Pittsburgh for over 10 years. I enjoy video gaming, reading science fiction/mysteries, playing with our family dog, and spending time with my wife and child.
