About My Clients
My clients are people who want to reduce the impact of anxiety and depression symptoms while learning how to engage the present moment in a way that helps them feel better. Symptoms generally arise related to our thought and emotional patterns, and in session I help clients to reframe their perceptions while learning to build tolerance for symptoms in a way that promotes their improvement.
My Background and Approach
I have 8 years experience in mental health counseling; helping hundreds of people improve their symptoms while learning how to regulate their thoughts and emotions. I have worked with a wide variety of clients ranging from teens to any age adult, and have had much success in helping people overcome symptoms using an approach consisting of cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy(ACT), and mindfulness skills training.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
In working with hundreds of clients I discovered that each person comes with their own set of stories and beliefs about themselves based on their past life conditioning. Modern day neuroscience has discovered that our neurological pathways are dynamic and able to change, and I have seen consistent evidence that shifting one's thought patterns while learning to feel our feelings from a different perspective allows us to become undefined by the past. Each one of us is able to take charge of our present moment in a way that alleviates symptoms and frees us from whatever negative sense we have about ourselves or our lives. When we engage this shift in perception, our bodies respond by shifting the intensity and perspective in which we experience mental health symptoms.
