About My Clients
Your strong. Perhaps you’ve been strong for too long. Even the strongest amongst us need help to work through life’s challenges. We all have battles to fight and overcome. Whether you struggle with anxiety, grief, self-doubt, shame, or the difficulty of transitioning to the next stage in your life, you are not alone. My work with you is informed not only by my professional training but by my own personal experiences working through these challenges. There is hope, it can and will get better.
My Background and Approach
My credentials include a master’s degree in Adult Education with an emphasis on Training & Staff Development, and a master's degree in Clinical Social Work from Florida State University. As an adult educator, I have taught several courses to those seeking certification in addiction counseling. I am licensed in the state of Florida [ License #SW 10725.] In addition to doing my own personal healing and development work I have gained invaluable clinical experiences including treating the mentally ill in community mental health settings, providing in home family counseling, maintaining a private practice, and treating countless individuals struggling with chemical as well as behavioral addictions ( i.e. codependency, sex love, and pornography). We will talk about the choices you make which work and do not work for you in your life, We work together to begin choosing a path which leaves you feeling encouraged and empowered.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe there is a hero within all of us. As your therapist, my greatest intention is to assist you in tapping into this hero within you. The road ahead becomes clear as you begin to experience greater hope for what is possible in your life. I belief my personal experiences and work within therapy helps me relate to and empathize with my clients. I have benefitted tremendously from working with therapists as well as participation in various 12 step programs. I have a special affinity for creative and sensitive types and encourage artistic expression as way to accelerate healing.
