My Background and Approach
Micah Duke has nearly 23 years of medical experience beginning as a combat medic in the military and then as a paramedic in the "civilian" world. He completed his Masters in Business Administration in Accounting & Finance in 2007 and his Masters in Applied Clinical Psychology from San Angelo State University in 2018. He completed his Bachelor in Science in Nursing in 2018 and his Masters in Science in Nurse in 2022. He has worked as a police officer for almost 10 years with specialties as a Mental Health Peace Officer and investigative hypnosis. Micah Duke focuses on an individualized, holistic, person-centered approach to mental health and addition treatment. He applies various therapy techniques and prescribes medications on a case-by-case basis, according to the unique needs of the individual.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Micah Duke believes that everybody needs someone to talk to sometimes so seeking mental health care should not be a difficult or stigmatizing endeavor. He believes that everyone deserves to be heard and has a right to a non-judgmental, stigma-free treatment environment. Micah also believes that, in many cases, medication is merely a temporary treatment option while the patient develops the coping skills needed to overcome the current situation. However, in some situations, medication may be the best option for treating the illness or condition.
