Hi there! If you are looking for an insightful, compassionate, and authentic therapist, you've come to the right place. Online only.
Associate Marriage & Family Therapist in Indianapolis, IN
Supervised by Shannon Loehr, LCSW
I have a worked with a number of clients who may not have severe mental health issues, but still feel "stuck." Maybe you want to make a career change, maybe you have a habit of overthinking, or maybe you just have a lot to get off your chest. The reality is that we all need help processing life even if we don't have "real problems." I can help by breaking down the issue into its core meaning to make it more simple. I believe you can be yourself AND work towards the life you want.
Very few people are given healthy role models for poly and open relationships. I have worked with a number of clients on managing jealousy, creating boundaries, and generally understanding if non-monogamy is right for them. These conversations can be very difficult, but I will create an environment that makes the hard conversations manageable. Regardless of how many partners you have, I work from the perspective that love and sexual attraction are limitless.
Problems with communication and conflict are the most common problems I deal with. In addition to my background in marriage and family therapy, I have dedicated my practice to being centered on the Gottman Method of couples therapy. This is an evidence-based approach that is easy to understand, but has proven to make a difference in a multitude of marriage/relationship issues.
For those who want a more "traditional" therapy approach. I use SFT as a simple, effective way of finding what works and sticking to it. This approach was a central part of my graduate training.
Narrative therapy operates from the perspective that social constructions, like racism and gender roles, permeate our lives. While we as individuals cannot change society itself, we can work to make you the author of your own story. In addition to my graduate training, I have attended a number of workshops with narrative therapy as a key component.
The Gottman Method is my most-used approach to therapy. This approach is informed by years of couples research that can predict divorce with 90 percent accuracy. I am level 2 trained in this approach, which means I have undergone two intensive, Gottman-approved trainings. I have also shadowed under a Gottman certified therapist (one of a few in Indiana) to conduct a couples workshop.
