About My Clients
Let me guess... you've been told how "self-aware and strong" you are, but low key feel so disconnected from your emotions. You're a young adult experiencing symptoms from trauma, suffering from intense anxiety, crippling depression, or relationship issues as a result of your symptoms. I get it. As we work to understand the root of your symptoms, imagine what its like to manage your day-to-day life by compassionately guiding yourself through your emotions and feeling more connected to your body.
My Background and Approach
I view our behaviors as adaptive and support my clients in uncovering how personal patterns developed as protective survival mechanisms. I enjoy using an eclectic blend of interventions, with a focus on experiential processing. In session, we can focus on connecting more deeply with your emotions and body, building self-compassion, learning to regulate the nervous system, increasing tolerance for a range of emotions, and building healthier relationships. I have experience working with trauma, intergenerational trauma, religious trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, self-esteem, and recovery from high-stress levels.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that therapy doesn't have to feel awkward or forced. I work overtime to ensure your comfortability and make sure we have a intentional connection before jumping in the deep end. I truly do not believe you have "character flaws" as this belief is rooted in deep shame. Instead I view your behaviors as adaptive and necessary for your own survival. As a survivor of childhood trauma, I also adapted to my inner world the only way I knew how. To shut off my emotions and stay small. This left me feeling so disconnected from my body and emotions. However, by understanding the nervous system, regulation techniques, and increased self-compassion (even though its hard) we can reconnect you to yourself!
