About My Clients
I am very relational and view that the therapeutic relationship is the most important for outcomes in therapy. My goal is to build safety and a strong foundation. I enjoy working with the nervous system and exploring what works best for you. If you are interested in scheduling an appointment please contact me today. I look forward to talking with you soon.
My Background and Approach
Most of my experiences have involved the treatment of complex trauma and helping those who have sustained various forms of abuse, trauma, and violence. I also work with clients who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, or relational trauma. Together, we will look more deeply into your background and history to get a full picture of what may be occurring for you. I often use body-based approaches and interventions in the treatment of complex/chronic PTSD, childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, dissociation, and other symptoms stemming from trauma. I tend to use a strengths-based approach and further invite curiosity to explore what has already been helpful, to expand and strengthen the skills developed. I have taken trainings and webinars in somatic experiencing therapy and sensorimotor psychotherapy. I have also obtained some courses in dance and movement therapy. I use a client-centered, whole-person approach, along with the implementation of holistic care and polyvagal theory.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as a Christian. I enjoy going to church and Bible study in my free time. I am incredibly passionate about increasing access to mental health services and raising awareness on mental health conditions through trauma-informed care. I enjoy educating others and raising awareness on domestic violence, intimate partner violence (IPV), and the impacts of trauma on the nervous system. I love learning about mind/body connection and learning about the wisdom of the body. I am motivated towards suicide intervention and prevention. I am also very passionate about social justice. I enjoy health and wellness, such as boxing, walking, running, lifting, exercise, and getting my body moving in a variety of ways. I love being in nature. I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and cat. I am deeply devoted to providing trauma-informed care through body-based approaches and am enthusiastic about psychology overall. I spend most of my free time soaking up various learning opportunities.
