About My Clients
I see individual adult clients for a variety of issues. I see clients of all genders, religions, cultures, and backgrounds. Some of my specialty treatment focuses are anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, stress management, self-esteem, and adoption concerns. I have a fully online practice so all sessions are scheduled as Telehealth video appointments.
My Background and Approach
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Georgia in Dahlonega, Georgia. I am a current member of the Licensed Professional Counselors Association of Georgia and the American Counseling Association. Clients have said that they find me calming, easy to talk to, and authentic. I am a culturally sensitive therapist, and my therapy style is influenced by cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), positive psychology, strength-based therapy, solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), and the feminist and existential theories. Also, when relevant, I enjoy using pop culture and “geek culture” as counseling tools.
