My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 10 years of experience helping clients manage anxiety, process trauma, and navigate life transitions. My approach is warm, client-centered, and culturally sensitive, grounded in evidence-based and trauma-informed practices. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based strategies, solution-focused techniques, and psychoeducation to provide practical tools you can use to calm your body, manage racing thoughts, and build long-term resilience. Together, we work collaboratively to address the challenges you’re facing right now while creating skills to prevent future stress and overwhelm. I work with children (10+), adolescents, adults, veterans, families, and individuals from underserved communities. I am also a published author and the owner of WritesbyMercedes, LLC, where I combine storytelling and healing to uplift and empower others.
