About My Clients
Are you fighting a constant battle against food and hating your body? Are you afraid of passing on your food and body struggles to your children? Whether you have a clinical eating disorder or have lived a lifetime of weight cycling and food restriction, I'm here to help. If you are a therapist, finding healing in your own relationship with your body and food can positively impact your clients! My Background and Approach
I have a background in child sexual abuse/trauma, parenting, and eating disorders. Previously a play therapist, I now specialize in eating disorder treatment, pregnancy complications and loss. I received my master's degree from UTTyler, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor- Supervisor and Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional and a candidate to become a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist. Through my own food freedom and body acceptance journey, I've seen the beautiful world outside of diet culture and I want to offer that to you. As a therapist, I know how impactful it can be to do your own work, but sometimes it's difficult to find a safe space to do the deep work needed for your own healing. I want to help you learn to identify what's beyond your food and body thoughts, move into emotion in a safe way, and ultimately find the joy in your life. I won't promise you a life of happiness with no discomfort, but I will be in your discomfort with you!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The first thing to know about me is that I am a deep lover of Jesus Christ. I don't like the term Christian because culturally there's been a large misrepresentation what a follower of Christ really looks like. No matter what your spiritual or political beliefs, I want to love you as I believe Jesus loves you. I am passionate about walking with people to meet the true Jesus. I'm married to the man of my dreams and we own and operate a pet service business. We have two boys that are really the best in the whole world and hope to have our own little gaggle of baseball players. Speaking of baseball- I love all things baseball and unashamedly am trying to brainwash my sons to love it. I'm a Ranger's fan, but I play fantasy baseball and love all of baseball. In my free time I'm either reading, writing, or crocheting. I grew up riding horses and raising goats and miss the farm life.
